We found it by accident. Lucky us! Delicious food. Very good starters and main dish. And dessert was superb!

Found this place on Google after searching for vegan friendly places in Amman, and boy was I in for a surprise. Upon entering, you feel like you’re sitting in someone’s courtyard, and the restaurant is decorated with antiques and memorabilia that belonged to the grandma after which the restaurant is named. The women who work there are so warm and welcoming, and went out of their way to make us feel like we have just gone up to our village and sat to dine with family. There’s no menu for you to choose from, but instead they will serve you whatever that have cooked / prepared for that day. Just let them know in advance if you have any dietary requirements so they can consider that when preparing the plates for your table. I visited with my brother, and the appetizer messes that were served were delicious, cooked with love, and the ingredients are of the finest quality. The food is simple, but great when it comes to taste, the tomatoes are just ripe, the courgette was sweet and light, the sumac was freshly ground, and the hummus just came straight from heaven. The main course was then Loobieh (Green Beans) cooked in a meat stew with rice served on the side, and then we finished off everything with cake and tea. I can’t recommend this place enough, it made me feel like I was home when I was visiting a different country. It’s a must do for anyones culinary adventures / agenda in Amman.

Wow! I was told when I landed in Jordan the only great food was found in family kitchens. After four days I was ready to agree- then stumbled into this place with an hour before I headed to airport. Incredible- I asked for off-menu Jordanian foods and they happily agreed and made everything from scratch right in front of me. The photos don’t do it justice as I couldn’t wait to start eating. Mutabal smoky excellence, muqluba well balanced by fresh salad and pepper babaganoush. Taking the manakish they made for me to go because I’m stuffed. Looks like they do cooking courses - I would if I could!

Food was super delicious. They bring out a lot of different food options and well worth the price. They prepare the food in front of you which was a nice touch. Great customer service

I spotted the place going downtown Amman using the staircase next to the entrance door last June late in the evening. I promised myself to come back for lunch in the following days. I did so during a hot midday. Crossing the door I was welcome by a white dinning room furnished with old tables, chairs and sofas that created a cozy family feeling. Cuttlery was colorful spicing tastfully the white room. The interior temperature was cool and on the wall against our table a tv screen was playing arabic modern music clips! Then I met Mrs. Lolita who served the day menu providing information about every dish on the table. Although I am familiarized to the arabic cousine, every dish I tryied was so delicious that I could hardly resist not finishing it all. Starter dishes were my delight! Main dish portion was more than enough and I couldn't eat it all. I must say that Mrs. Lolita is a great story teller providing insight to her family story and not only how this family bussines started but also about the way she runs it. I suggest you to pay a visit at this place if you are in Amman. Decent genuine arabic dishes in a relaxed family ambience paired with polite and nice service. It is a place I will tresure and visit whenever I will be in Amman from now on.

This is a great little spot that isn't overrun by budget tourists. There is no menu. You are seated when you arrive and you will be presented with plenty of traditional home-cooked Arabic food that is scrumptious and hearty. As part of the overall experience, you will also be provided with free mint tea and a selection of traditional desserts. The cost for us was 15 JD per person.

Cannot say enough great things about Najila's Kitchen. Our group of five dropped by unexpectedly and we were welcomed with open arms! The perfect experience for a group unsure of what to order, the diverse spread and family style service brought our group closer while absolutely filling our bellies. On top of the amazing food the history within the walls was breathtaking. Stunning to see the family heritage continuing the long standing recipes carried forward.
